Common Whirlpool Dryer Issues

There are a number of problems that could impact your Whirlpool dryer’s performance. You can attempt to avoid issues with regular maintenance, like cleaning your dryer and emptying your lint trap. That being said, it is sometimes difficult to avoid problems with your dryer, like:

  • The dryer is not turning on
  • Whirlpool dryer not getting warm after starting a cycle
  • Dryer is not spinning after starting a cycle
  • Dryer is making strange noises or is too noisy
  • Whirlpool dryer is getting too hot during a cycle
  • Dryer is vibrating too much
  • Whirlpool dryer doesn't won't heat up or properly dry clothes

It's recommended that you check your Whirlpool electric supply before calling a technician. If the power supply for your oven is in order, then the problem is best determined by a professional.

Common Whirlpool Washing Machine Issues

When your washer gives you trouble, it can be a very frustrating experience. The idea of cleaning all your clothes manually is a non-starter for most homeowners. Modern washers are known for their many features and, as a result, some of the most common Whirlpools are:

  • The electronic part of your appliance. In some cases it’s a small part that needs to be replaced and, in other cases, some more significant parts need changing.
  • Pump problems can prevent water from entering or leaving your washer, and this could mean that you’ll need to get some buckets ready while you wait for the technician
  • The motor on any washer works particularly hard during every wash cycle and wear and tear in this area can also cause parts to break
  • Whirlpool washer is not turning on
  • Washer won’t spin during a cycle
  • The washer fails to drain
  • Whirlpool washer is leaking water
  • Whirlpool washer is vibrating
  • Washer won't run or stops mid-cycle
  • Washer smells bad

No matter the problem or make of your washer, Max Appliance Repair will be right over to take care of the issue.

Common Whirlpool Dishwasher Issues

When you notice a fault with your Whirlpool dishwasher, it can be quite unsettling. Just thinking about having to wash dishes by hand is enough to leave anyone feeling frustrated. Modern dishwashers are known for their complex functions and features, which means that the fault could be mechanical or electronic. You can do things like cleaning your dishwasher to help maintain the unit, but that doesn’t mean that issues won’t pop up from time to time. The first thing to remember is to check your water and power supply before calling a technician. If both are working properly, then the fault is most likely with the dishwasher. Here are some common issues that could be negatively impacting your washer:

  • Problem with the thermostat
  • The pump is not working properly
  • Dishwasher motor doesn't work properly
  • Dishes aren’t coming out clean
  • The unit is making strange noises
  • Whirlpool dishwasher is not draining
  • The Whirlpool dishwasher is leaking
  • Dishwasher is not turning on
  • Whirlpool dishwasher doesn't dry dishes
  • Dishwasher smells bad
  • Dishwasher doesn't dispense soap

The good news is that our Whirlpool technicians has fixed many of these problems, so you don’t have to resort to DIY repairs. So we invite you to give us a call if your stove is experiencing any of the following problems:

  • You are unable to adjust the heat on your unit
  • The stove knobs are broken
  • The Whirlpool stove coils are not heating
  • The coils are damaged or are loose
  • The electric supply is not working properly
  • Whirlpool Stove burner won't heat
  • The stove can't maintain the temperature

Remember, it’s always best to call a professional technician for safe repairs!

Common Whirlpool Fridge Issues

Since your Whirlpool fridge is made up of dozens of components, it’s understandable for various parts to experience wear and tear over time. Usually, there are a collection of common problems that the average fridge will experience. As parts become worn or break, you may notice a change in the performance of your fridge. Here are a few common fridge issues that we can help you with:

  • The water dispenser is not working properly
  • Fridge motor has stopped working
  • Temperature fluctuates
  • The food isn’t cool
  • Ice isn’t coming out of the ice maker

  • There is ice build-up in the freezer
  • Freezer is not cooling properly

  • Fresh food compartment warming up

Common Whirlpool Oven Issues

Ovens are pretty durable appliances overall. That being said, it is not immune from small and big issues. You can do things like cleaning your oven regularly and inspecting your oven regularly, but issues will pop up from time to time. Luckily, our Whirlpool technicians are only a phone call away. We can fix any issue with your oven, including:

If you are the proud owner of a Whirlpool oven, you know just how easy they are to use and how rare errors usually are. Of course, just like any home appliance, you cannot expect your oven to run forever without any kind of wear and tear. Especially considering the fact that this appliance reaches very high temperatures. If you notice the F2 error code on your Whirlpool oven, this fault needs to be diagnosed and repaired before you attempt any further use.

What Does the F2 Error Code Mean?

The first step that you need to take is learning what the error means. Each error code is associated with a different problem. In this case, the F2 error code indicates that the oven temperature is too high. Now, this does not necessarily mean that the temperature inside the oven really is too high. The oven control board (clock) is responsible for measuring the resistance of the sensor circuit. It does not measure the actual temperature inside the oven. So, if there is a fault with this part of the appliance, it can result in false readings.

Check Contacts

Take a look at the bake and broil relays of the oven. Make sure that everything is still intact and making perfect contact. If there are any loose wires or connections, this could be the reason for the fault. Securing wires back in place requires specialized tools and experience. It’s best not to attempt any DIY repairs of this nature.

Control Board

The control board could be faulty and, if this is the case, it will need to be replaced in its entirety. Again, this is a delicate process and it’s essential that the correct part is ordered. Your repair technician will be able to supply the correct part and install it for you. Since these parts don’t always come cheap, it’s good to have an expert perform the installation. This way, you will also enjoy a warranty on the work done.

Door Lock

If you have a self-cleaning oven, the door lock could be at fault. All appliances these days have safety mechanisms in place that are designed to keep them running safely and smoothly. When one of these parts becomes worn or damaged, your appliance may no longer work or you will notice an error message on this display screen.

Sensor And Sensor Harness

This is usually best left to the professionals since you need special tools and experience when detecting any faults in this area. The sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at the oven control all need to be checked to make sure that they are intact. You should also check for high resistance in the temperature sensor circuit.

The ice maker in your Whirlpool fridge stops working, it can be both inconvenient and stressful. Fortunately, this kind of problem can usually be fixed fairly quickly. First, we recommend inspecting your appliance for any visible problems as well as making sure that there are no issues with your water or power supply. Remember, our Whirlpool fridge repair experts are available throughout the GTA and we are just a phone call away.

High Freezer Temperature

If the temperature of your freezer is higher than 10 Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius), the ice maker will not prove efficient. You should set the temperature to somewhere between 0 and 5 Fahrenheit or -18 to -15 Celsius. If your freezer is warmer than it should be, you should check the condenser coils and make sure that they are clean. Debris can make it difficult for the freezer to release heat and this causes heat to build up inside instead. The condenser fan should also be checked and, while you’re at it, look for any frost build up on the evaporator coils. If there is frost, the defrost system could be faulty.

Water Inlet Valve

The water inlet valve is electrically-controlled. If it is faulty or if there is not enough pressure, the water will not flow through and this will mean that your ice maker cannot make ice. There should be at least 20 psi (water pressure) for this valve to function. If this is the case, then the power supply to the valve could be the cause. If this is not the case either, you might need a new water inlet valve.

Ice Maker Assembly

The ice maker assembly is made up of several smaller parts. However, many of these parts are not sold separately which means that you might need to replace the entire ice maker assembly. Before you do, however, make sure that this is indeed the problem.

Ice Maker Module

The motor of your ice maker module is responsible for cycling the ice ejector arms or turning the tray to eject the ice. The thermostat detects the temperature and, when it reaches about 15 degrees Fahrenheit, it triggers the release of the cubes and the refill of the tray. Check if your on/off switch is in the on position or check that the bail arm is in the down position. You should also check for any ice that may have become stuck in the ejector blades. A technician can further diagnose other module problems best. Call us today for ice maker repairs!

Door Switch

When you open the fridge, the door switch tells the water dispenser to turn off. If this switch fails, then it will not turn the dispenser back on when the door is closed. Replace this switch and the problem will be resolved.

Water Filter

If the water filter on your fridge is clogged, it can prevent the ice maker from functioning properly. Replace your filter as per the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid this from occurring and to ensure best water quality.

Ice Maker Tray Thermostat

This thermostat monitors the temperature of the ice tray. When it reaches the set temperature, the ice cubes are then ejected. If the thermostat is faulty, your ice maker will no longer produce ice. This is a fault best diagnosed by a professional.

Ice Maker Switch

If your ice maker switch is turned on but your fridge is not making ice, it could be that the switch is faulty. The switch should be tested and, if faulty, replaced.

Ice Not Ejecting

There are several possible causes for ice not ejecting. Firstly, check inside your freezer to make sure that nothing is blocking the control arm of your ice maker. Secondly, it could be due to a faulty motor, gearbox or other electrical connection. You can try manually removing the ice from the tray. Make sure that you unplug your fridge before you do this and monitor the ice maker once you turn it back on. If this does not solve the issue, call a technician for a thorough diagnosis.

Parts like the ice maker in your Whirlpool fridge can be particularly complex and delicate.
